Qualitative research<\/h4>
We use qualitative research methods (focus groups, interviews, case studies, observations) to explore in depth various phenomena, processes or characteristics of the target group in the educational and social sphere. We use thematic analysis methods, grounded theory, as well as modern approaches such as outcome harvesting and process tracing in our data analysis. We also deal with systemic approaches.\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Quantitative research<\/h4>
In quantitative research, we propose a comprehensive solution from the creation and joint conceptualization of the order, through the selection of appropriate measurement tools, data collection using the LimeSurvey platform, to data cleaning, data analysis (e.g. impact evaluation, process evaluation), to writing the final report and providing feedback in the form of individualized reports for respondents.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

We process systematic reviews of the results of empirical studies published mainly in international scientific publications, but also in the so-called grey literature.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Validation of measurement tools<\/h4>
We use standardized measurement tools for data collection. We adapt psychometrically validated foreign instruments into the Czech language. We also pilot the instruments and verify the psychometric characteristics of their translated versions.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Open-source R library reschola<\/h4>
We have created an analysis tool, reschola, for working in R, which we share with other researchers. Reschola is a set of uniform procedures, tools and templates. It allows semi-automated data processing from data collection to the final report. It also offers an API for working with LimeSurvey.\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Eduzm\u011bna<\/h4>
We are conducting extensive research with a quasi-experimental design focused on monitoring and evaluating socio-emotional skills of children in kindergartens, educational outcomes of primary and secondary school students, school climate, attitudes of students, attitudes of teachers and principals, and participation of parents and the entire community in Kutn\u00e1 Hora. This research is part of our long-term internal research project aimed at developing evidence-based interventions in education.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Stronger Roots<\/h4>
The Stronger Roots programme focuses on strengthening the resilience of civil society organisations. It seeks to do this in two ways: firstly, it supports organisations to build relationships with a range of supporters from the community and the general public; secondly, it helps organisations to network with institutional actors across sectors and spectrum of opinion. The programme conducts a combination of qualitative and quantitative evaluation. The qualitative evaluation serves to reflect and continuously learn in this project with a number of innovative elements. The quantitative evaluation focuses on impact evaluation. We measure indicators at the beginning and end of the programme and compare supported organisations with a control group of non-supported organisations.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Homesharing<\/h4>
Homesharing is a system of shared care that aims to support families of children with intellectual or combined disabilities. The quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the programme provides feedback from key stakeholders on the progress and perceived success of the project in order to inform its development and further dissemination.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Active Citizen Fund<\/h4>
The Active Citizens Fund supports civil society organisations to increase transparency in governance, improve civic and media education, promote respect for human rights and address the needs of disadvantaged groups. The program helps track key quantitative indicators.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Czech priorities<\/a><\/h4>
The aim of Czech Priorities is to find effective solutions to societal challenges in the Czech Republic and to improve decision-making on public finances and policies. Schola Empirica assisted with a research search in the field of pre-school education and the preparation of a cost-benefit analysis of the benefits of improving the quality of pre-school education in the Czech context.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Porticus<\/h4>
We are involved in the coordination of the international project Places to Grow, funded by the Porticus Foundation, which connects leading non-profit organizations focused on the early development of disadvantaged children in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Our role consists mainly in conceptualizing, developing and finding best practices in measurement, evaluation and data literacy.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Young adult empowerment<\/h4>
A research project in collaboration with Abakus, the foundation of the founders of Avast. An extensive search of relevant literature and interviews with Czech and international experts describes specific strategies and necessary prerequisites for change in working with young adults with different types of disabilities. In particular, it presents concrete international examples and approaches that contribute to the successful \"Empowerment of young adults with health disadvantages\".<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Solution Journalism<\/h4>
Solutions journalism, a solution-oriented approach to journalism, aims to respond to the growing public perception of journalistic work as focusing on negative aspects of society and polarizing issues. Based on interviews with 19 European journalists, mentors and editors, the perception of the approach in Central and Eastern European countries was assessed. Concrete recommendations for the successful operation of solutions-based journalism support in the future are an integral part of the evaluation.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Children with a different mother tongue<\/a><\/h4>
Projects to improve the quality of education by strengthening inclusion were carried out in Prague's kindergartens and primary schools. The aim of our evaluation was to assess the benefits of inclusive activities and to obtain examples of the most significant changes that have occurred in pupils, teachers or parents.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Parents' needs for ABAKUS<\/h4>
The Abakus Foundation has long focused on supporting families with children with disabilities or chronic illnesses. In order to support these activities, we have conducted a research of foreign and Czech studies and based on this research we have compiled a questionnaire for a survey of nearly 2000 parents of children with disabilities. The results of the survey were published in the form of a summary report and smaller media outputs.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Ashoka Czech Republic<\/h4>
The evaluation of the impact of Ashoka's ecosystem work supported by the Porticus Foundation focused on the period between 2018-2020 (April). Two case studies were developed using the Outcome Harvesting framework: (1) advocacy for the Insolvency Law Amendment and (2) support for Solutions Journalism and the \"You are not alone\" project.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Municipality of Prague 13 <\/h4>
The aim of the public contract \"Introduction of the system of citizens' feedback at the Prague 13 Municipal Office\" within the project \"Open and Communicating Office of the Prague 13 Municipal Office\" (reg. no.: CZ.1.04\/4.1.01\/89.00112) was to improve the communication between the Office and the users of the Office's services and, above all, to systematically address citizens' feedback. In the first phase of implementation, an extensive face-to-face questionnaire survey was conducted among the residents of the district, which focused on the quality of life in the area and the needs and expectations of citizens. The questionnaire survey was used to select respondents who would be willing to participate in further surveys on a regular basis and participate in systematic data collection.\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Foundation Against Corruption<\/h4>
The grant from the Anti-Corruption Foundation to support the project \"The Book Corruption as a Parasite\" aims to draw attention to the fact that corruption must be fought not only by repression but also by prevention, i.e. by taking systemic preventive measures. In the short time since the book's publication, this idea has been addressed to people with significant formal or informal decision-making power. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
